The beginning of 2023 resulted in a significant simplification of the procedures for filing and renewing national trademarks in the Principality of Monaco. Both of these procedures can now be carried out electronically.
The latest tool for this purpose has been implemented in close cooperation with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The IT tool for online trade mark application and renewal is available on the website of the Office de la Propriété Industrielle under "Trademark E-Services". A dedicated IT system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The interface includes a series of instructions posted on the website and allows interested parties to pay securely online, as well as follow the entire process through an acknowledgment of receipt sent by e-mail.
It should be added at this point that the service is reserved to both natural and legal persons residing or established in the Principality of Monaco. The possibility of using this IT system has also been made available to applicants who are based abroad. In such a case, such persons or entities must use the services of a Monegasque agent.
